My Story
My Goal is to promote the sport of muzzleloader shooting and bring back participation of yesteryear.
Here I am after a successful trip to the Ohio State Championship
My story starts as a 12 year old boy in western Pennsylvania, I asked for a Hawken muzzleloader kit. For Christmas my uncle bought me a Cabela’s Hawken kit. I spent the next year working on that kit. While it won’t win any awards for craftsmanship, it still is one of my most prized rifles. I don’t really know what drew me to muzzleloaders but I have always had an appreciation for them.
My ideas of accuracy were a bit skewed, I thought that if I could hit a milk jug 3 times in a row then the rifle was “sighted in”. This is a common misconception, “muzzleloaders just aren’t accurate”. It wasn’t until I was introduced to competitive muzzleloader shooting that I learned just how accurate they can be.
Fast forward to today; I have been so fortunate to have learned from some of the best shooters around the country. I have also been lucky enough to win multiple state championships; as well as national championships in offhand and benchrest muzzleloader shooting.
